Chairman

Michael Woodley

Michael Woodley acts as the CEO of FNMA as well as the Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation and Yindjibarndi Ngurra Aboriginal Corporation. Paul Cleary's recently launched biography "Title Fight" outlines Woodley's decades-long ongoing battle to get legal recognition of native title and compensation for the Yindjibarndi People against Andrew Forrest's behemoth Fortescue Metals Group. Based locally in Roebourne, Pilbara, Woodley's development of the Indigenous-operated Juluwarlu organisation has been a fantastic source of information about First Nations history and culture.

Key Responsibilities

With an incredible background in consultancy to both private industry and government bodies, Woodley’s constant fight for representation, education and advocacy on behalf of his local community has been tantamount in bringing about increased Federal and State government focus on the issues of native land titles and the cultural and spiritual roles that the First Nations People play in modern Australia.
